The Garland Stove Company Oval Button

$2.00

This oval button is a careful remade copy of an advertisement button made by the Garland Stove Company circa 1900. In the 1870s and 1880s, stoves were Detroit's leading industry. Detroit earned the nick name “Old Sto Town” thanks to the abundance of iron ore in Michigan's Upper Peninsula being sent to Detroit for production via the Great Lakes. By the year 1910, half of all cast iron stoves made world wide, were forged in Detroit.

It’s a big ol’ button at 2.5’’x 3.2”. Looks lovely on jackets, bags, scarfs, corkboards, dog collars, or to wear to morn the fire that destroyed the giant stove over ten years ago.
