Together with your guides you'll learn the history of the 2.1 mi.² city. From the immigrants who forever changed the food, architecture, and culture of the city, to the industries and automotive titans who indelibly left their mark.

You’ll learn about the “Communist Meat Strike”, and a gangster who once held court in a Hamtramck café, all while enjoying plenty of food at four different locations. Best of all, together with your guides you’ll meet the owners, makers, or chefs whose menus and offerings have become famous, or are famously hidden gems in the little city within a city - Hamtramck.

This tour departs and returns to the Detroit History Club, 3103 Commor St., Hamtramck Michigan. Parking is on the street. The clubhouse opens 30 minutes before the ticketed tour time.

• The ticket price includes all food, tax and tip at each location.

• It is strongly recommended that guests wear comfortable walking shoes, and dress for the weather.

• To best enjoy this tour guests should be able to walk up to 1.5 miles at a leisurely pace, transition over uneven surfaces, and climb a small number of stairs.

• Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase at some locations, purchases are at the guests own expense.

• Special dietary requests can not be accommodated on this tour.

  • If you suffer from food allergies, have a restrictive diet, or are a picky eater this tour may not be right for you.

• This tour is designed for adults with a sense of adventure and fun, however any guest over the age of 16 is welcome to join as long as they are accompanied by an adult over 21 years of age.
